Pretzels

How could I not have a whole post dedicated to pretzels?! Seriously, my best friend here, well after my fabulous IKEA blanket, anyway anyway. The pretzels here are delish and for .66 EUR, how can I not make a daily stop? I go to the little bread shop and say, Eine brezel Bitte (One pretzel please). I get this big goofy smile on my face and the lady just looks at me like I'm crazy. However, I could care less. The best time to get these knotted bits of heaven is when they are just from the oven. Oh, you can get them with cheese on it too. (you have to balance protein and carbs!)

WeinachtMarkts!

Oh the BEST part about being here in December is (no, not the cold) the Christmas Markets! I have gone to a total of five. They're are definitely similarities in them all, but the best one was Nurnberg. It is the oldest and largest in Germanty (or so they tell me). It is filled with mini shops that sell oranments, gloves, candles, kitchen tools etc etc. And of course, Food! (my fav!) The big stands are the bratwurst (duh!), chocolate covered fruit, cookies!, nuts, dried fruits and gluhwein (pronounced glue-vine). I of course was addicted to to the chocolate covered fruit ;) Everything is so fresh and it smells amazing. They definitely get crowded as the day gets later, but it just really brings a warming sense of the holidays.

Above are some pics of the some of the Christmas Markets I went to.

First Post

Hello! GutenTag!

Well, I'm a little delayed, and by little, I mean 2 weeks! Eep! So much has happened!
Well I am here, physically anyway. I flew in here 2 Tuesdays ago and hit the ground running with my life. I will say, it has been an experience. You definitely take for granted what you have when its all right there, and easy to communicate with. Everything has been a task. From opening my bank account, to paying rent to freaking laundry.....but what is the saying, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger? ;)

However, despite my rant, I'm happy. It's an adjustment, but it's fun. Work is work and fortunately its not too psychotic where I will be spending long nights here (besides, I get kicked out of the office by 6 PM). The weather is cold, but this is a great time to be here in Germany to experience the Weihnachtmarkts (aka Christmas Markets). And besides with the countless amount of bread shops, where the pretzels are amazing, how can one be unhappy!!

I guess, here is what to expect from this. My stories, my adventures and my thoughts! So, sit back, grab your favorite bier and enjoy!

Ciao for now!
